I’m trying to make better use of the discussion feature available on Substack and wanted to serve up better prompts than my previous open-ended questions! Today, I wanted to use my recently published list on Letterboxd as a springboard: “Movies I’ve Lost Track of How Many Times I’ve Seen”
I think you can safely divide these movies into roughly three categories:
Movies my parents would put on to shut me up as a young and voracious cinephile
Movies that got a lot of airplay on cable/HBO and were widely agreeable for the whole family when we were channel-surfing
Movies I needed to be able to quote very word of in high school/college to keep up
Are any of these favorites of yours? What are the classics that you have seen more times than you can remember? Would love to hear from you in the comments — jump in, the water’s fine!
This is a great list! I would definitely add the 90s kids sports movies, like The Mighty Ducks trilogy, The Sandlot, and Angels in the Outfield. Also, your animated entries reminded me that I've seen Emperor's New Groove way too many times.

Oh man! I might have to add ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD. One of the first DVDs I got back in the day, and I wore that one out.
